Transportation of Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs)
Kindly be informed that based on the current regulatory framework for the transport of AFVs (Alternative Fuel Vehicles) on passenger ferries:
i. The battery charge level for fully electric or rechargeable hybrid vehicles must not exceed 40% of their total capacity, and
ii. The tanks of vehicles using other alternative fuels, such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or natural gas, must not contain fuel exceeding 50% of their total capacity.
It should be noted that:
- The transportation of vehicles that have a fault in their fuel system or batteries is not allowed, in cases where these have not been removed.
- The responsibility for ensuring that the vehicle has no fault or damage in its fuel system or batteries rests exclusively with the vehicle owners.
